Modular Additions: A Solution for Shrinking Homes
Are you outgrowing your home? Your home seemed like it was the perfect size
when you first moved in. But now you have children that are reaching the age
where they each need their own bedroom. Perhaps you have an older relative that
will be coming to live with you. Maybe you've decided that you need an office
and a studio, so you can work at home. There's no doubt that you need more
space.
You could sell your home and buy a larger one. But, finding
the right house and selling your old home could take months, or even longer
than a year. And, you really don't want to move away anyway. An alternative
would be to build an addition to your existing home. But the idea of having to
temporarily move out for a week, or much longer, while the second story is
being added, doesn't seem very appealing either. The solution may be with the
new option of modular additions.
You've heard of modular homes. These are homes that are
built in modules at the factory and later placed in position at the home site.
Well now you can get modular additions that are built at the factory. They are
then brought to your home and are set into position with the use of a crane.
You could have a new wing for your home, or a second story, complete with
bedrooms and bathrooms, brought to your home as a single modular addition.
Virginia modular additions are built to meet or exceed all federal, state,
and local building codes. They are energy efficient. And, the completed
addition will look like it was part of your original home. There is some site
preparation required to receive the new module, and some finishing work, such
as hooking up the electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning. But over eighty
percent of the work is completed at the factory.
