Buying a Manufactured Home: What You Should Know
When
you're trying to figure out if you should buy a manufactured home in Fairfax, there are plenty of things to
consider. Carbide Construction has a few suggestions on things you
should keep in mind when you're contemplating this type of home.
First
of all, make sure that wherever you plan on setting up the
manufactured home is manufactured-home-friendly. Even though this
type of home is built with the highest quality standards in mind,
some areas and communities do not welcome them.
Be
sure your manufactured home is weather-friendly, depending on the
climate and environment where you live. Does your area get a lot of
snow or high winds? Is your area prone to flooding, hurricanes or
other natural disasters?
We
know that money is one of the most important factors when you're
making a purchase that is this big, so be sure that if you're renting
the lot, you factor that cost into the overall cost of the
manufactured home. Be sure that whoever is selling the manufactured
home to you is licensed to do so. Keep an eye on the process from
start to finish and if there are any problems with the manufactured
home after you move in, bring it to the seller's attention so the
problems can be fixed.
And
if you're renting the lot, take a good long look at the lease and see
if manufactured homes are permitted. Do your research and make sure
there aren't any zoning laws that don't permit manufactured homes.
You don't want to invest in one of these homes only to find out it's
illegal or not permitted!
